Portable Crusher Spread Operator/Foreman
South Shore Sand & Gravel located in Chester, NS is immediately looking for a portable crusher spread operator/ foreman for the Windsor Road Quarry. The position reports directly to the Quarry Manager.
About South Shore Sand & Gravel
The Windsor Quarry is a seasonal rock quarry in use since 1976 and operated by South Shore Sand & Gravel, a division of South Shore Ready Mix Limited. The quarry site has a total area of 136 hectares and produces aggregates for use in concrete, road building, and other commercial and residential applications on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
Duties and responsibilities
Position is permanent with up 50 hours per week depending on season, with the following duties and responsibilities:
- Organize and lead the work for the crew working the portable crusher
- Responsible to set an appropriate pace of production over a range of aggregate products
- Build and strengthen team and contribute to creating an attractive place to work
- Ensure safe practises
- Monitor and make adjustments to maintain good production quality
- Keep track of production volumes
- Schedule and perform routine maintenance and emergency repair
- Work language is English
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience from operating a crusher spread for a minimum of one season is required
- Knowledge of McCloskey crusher spread is an asset
- Experience in operating loader or excavator an asset
- Valid drivers license is required
